Keyboard shortcuts

Every shortcut Synapse ships with, grouped the same way as Settings. All of them can be changed or turned off.

Shortcuts marked Ctrl use Cmd instead on a Mac. A capture-phase listener means most shortcuts work even while a terminal pane has focus, without the terminal seeing the key. The exceptions are plain Ctrl+letter combinations (like Ctrl+K), which shells and editors use themselves: those are only sent to Synapse when the action is marked "works in a focused terminal" below, otherwise the terminal program gets them as normal.

Rebinding a shortcut

Open Settings > Keyboard shortcuts to see every shortcut, record a new combination, clear one, or reset it to its default. If two actions end up sharing a combination, Settings flags the conflict.

An action with "None" has no default shortcut but can still be given one in Settings. Actions that need a service are hidden from the command palette and the shortcuts list while that service is off, and their shortcut does nothing until you switch the service on in Services.
